Improving upon the technology of the renowned T2 while cutting out unnecessary complications, theT1 Large-Diaphragm Condenser MicrophonefromsE Electronicsis a quality studio condenser mic with a fixed cardioid pickup pattern and a 1″ titanium capsule. 33% stiffer and more than 300% lighter than gold, the titanium-sputtered diaphragm offers a superior transient response, ideal for drums, cymbals, and bass recording applications.
The T1 features an impressive low noise and a whopping 157 dB max SPL with the attenuation pad engaged, allowing it be used on a very wide array of sources, from whisper quiet to extremely loud. With the 80 or 160 Hz low-cut filter, you can eliminate rumbling and footfall noise. Both the pad and high-pass filter utilize metal switches, rather than delicate plastic, and the whole enclosure is handmade at sE Electronics’ factory, providing a dent-proof housing that will survive years of intensive use. This microphone includes a shockmount, a metal case, a thread adapter, and an sE Electronics logo sticker.
Little Brother of the Renowned T2Drawing from the well-regarded design of the T2 multipattern condenser microphone, the T1 offers the same performance with a few improvements and a fixed cardioid pattern.
Precise Cardioid PatternSwapping out the multipattern design of the T2 for the cardioid capture of the T1 offers improved off-axis rejection and a more affordable mic without sacrificing sound quality.
Switchable Attenuation PadThe T1 sports the same pad with metal switches found on the T2, providing:
Switchable Low-Cut Filter
The improved high-pass filter on the T1 changes values to 80 and 160 Hz for improved versatility. With the high-pass filter, you can eliminate low-frequency rumble or footfall noise. It also helps compensate for excessive bass when using close-miking techniques.
