The Lgre Oboe reed is the first synthetic orchestral-grade oboe reed ever produced. It can be played for hours before needing rotation and can last up to six to twelve months. It is warm, stable to upper registers, playable out of the box, and will never respond to climate conditions. It is recommended for Oboe players of all experience levels.

Our reeds are made from a special formulation of polypropylenea non-toxic, food-safe polymer youll also find in medical equipment, yogurt cups, and packaging. On its own, polypropylene is far too flexible for a reed. So we strengthen it through a process called orientation, which aligns the polymer fibers to dramatically increase stiffness. Thats the secret to the signature feel and response of a Lgre reed.

Because our material doesnt absorb moisture, Lgre reeds dont need soaking, never warp, and are ready to play right out of the case. Theyre durable, hygienic, and can be cleaned easily with warm water and a mild detergent. Its canerefined.
