The Ibanez Iron Label RGDRB71 offers metal-minded players a satisfying extended-range playing experience. This 7-string electric guitar is built upon a nyatoh body with sculpted bevels and extra-deep horns for an aggressive look and extreme contoured comfort. The RGDRB71s roasted maple neck features a hand-cradling Wizard II-7 shape, and its 24-fret, flat-radius ebony fingerboard provides plenty of room for fast-paced finger maneuverability. A set of DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers delivers a perfect storm of rapid-fire attack and amp-pummeling output, both of which are must-haves for modern metal. The RGDRB71 is equipped with an ultra-stable Mono-rail hardtail bridge and rock-solid Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, ensuring steadfast reliability even in extremely primal playing situations. Complete with an attention-grabbing reverse headstock and a spotlight-stealing satin poly finish, the Ibanez RGDRB71 is the perfect instrument for your individual brand of down-tuned metallurgic musicality.
Speedy Wizard II-7 neck
One of Ibanezs fastest necks to date, the roasted maple Wizard II-7 neck on the RGDRB71 is an absolute pleasure to play. This slim and super-comfortable neck lets you pull off lightning-fast runs, arpeggios, and hammer-ons with ease, but it still gives you the substance you need for fretting chords. Capping the neck is a 24-fret ebony fingerboard thats loaded with jumbo frets that are perfect for big note bends. From the first time you put your hands on the RGDRB71s Wizard II-7 neck, youll know youve got a guitar that was built with performance in mind.
Active guitar tones without the battery
Ibanez loaded the Iron Label RGDRB71 with a pair of DiMarzio D Activator-7 humbucking pickups. These high-octane pickups deliver a full and enriched harmonic quality thats great for rhythm and solo playing alike. DiMarzio designed their D Activator pickups to eliminate the sterile edginess that plagues many active pickups. The bottom line is that they deliver all the advantages of active pickups without the drawbacks. Plus, these pickups dont require batteries! Whats more, their massive headroom permits you to pick as aggressively as you want without flattening your signal. The guitarists here have found these pickups to have exceptionally balanced volume between the neck and bridge you can switch between the two positions with zero drops in volume. The RGDRB71 includes a volume knob, a 3-way toggle switch, and a coil-tap switch.
Mono-rail bridge optimizes string vibrations
The RGDRB71 features Ibanezs Mono-rail bridge, which uses a single bridge piece for each individual string. This provides tighter component coupling and improves the transfer of string vibrations to the tonewood for a purer, more resonant sound. Additionally, it prevents the vibration of strings from impacting each other, which can increase articulation.
