As the longtime rhythm guitarist of thrash metal legends Death Angel, Ted Aguilar has spent over 20 years dishing out lightning-fast licks and brutal rhythms in the metal realm. The ESP LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC is the second in his series of signature ESP LTD instruments, contrasting the white-on-white brilliance of his TED-600T with a blacked-out finish and classic EC-style body. Just like Teds first signature, this searing 6-string sports a sustain-rich 3-piece mahogany neck-through construction flanked by mahogany wings and topped off with an articulate slab of maple. Death Angels furious interlocking leads and ripping rhythms demand a guitar with the highest level of performance, which is why Ted decked out this EC with a 13.77-inch-radius Macassar ebony fingerboard, 24 XJ frets, and a rock-solid recessed Gotoh TOM-style string-through bridge. Bright white EMG active 81 and 60 humbuckers finish off this guitars brooding sonic formula, supplying ultra-high-output ceramic-magnet firepower with superlative clarity, crushing lows, and snarling mids.
Sustain-enhancing neck-through design
From the stage-ready LTD line to Custom Shop masterpieces, ESP guitars are renowned here for their prodigious sustain. What sets them apart from the 6-string pack? Instead of a typical set neck joint, guitars such as the LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC sport a neck-through construction. This joint-less method where the guitars neck and the center of the body are comprised of a single piece of timber, thus resulting in superior sustain and string-to-body resonance. Its also an extremely stable method thats further bolstered by the LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC necks 3-piece mahogany design. Add a contoured neck heel, string-through bridge, lightweight mahogany wings, and the Ted Aguilar TED-EC is ready to dish out screaming solos and gain-laden riffs with nearly never-ending sustain.
Fast-playing thin U neck profile
The ESP LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC 3-piece mahogany neck is primed for fleet-fingered fretboard finesse, equipped with a thin U profile thats sure to please the performance-minded players in the audience. Topside, you get a gorgeous Macassar ebony fingerboard in a 13.77-inch radius that delivers comfortable chording and riffage down low with a smooth, fret-out-free feel up high. Finally, the LTD Ted Aguilar TED-ECs premium neck is finished off with 24 XJ frets.
Aggressive EMG active humbuckers
Mirroring the pickups on Teds previous ESP LTD signature model, the LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC comes equipped with a massive-sounding pair of EMG active humbuckers. Loaded with an EMG 81 in the bridge slots with an EMG 60 in the neck position, the LTD Ted Aguilar TED-EC unleashes a veritable torrent of high-output humbucking destruction that remains sharply defined no matter how much gain you hit it with. A single volume knob and 3-way toggle seal the deal, all adding up to a genuinely no-nonsense axe thats primed for sonic brutality.
