5-string bass pickups go vintage with the Area J 5. Like the original Area J, the Area J 5 was designed for warmth, sustain, and a clean, singing tone. The low-pull magnetic field allows the strings to ring clearly and enhances the sound of the low B string. And like all DiMarzio bass pickups, the Area J 5 cancels hum. With medium output and a very balanced tone, the Area J 5 works equally well with passive and active electronics.
