With its combination of precise audio capture, durable design, and versatile mounting solutions, theAudio-Technica ATM355VFCLM3is a compact, clip-on condenser instrument microphone engineered to meet the demands of both studio and stage musicians and audio professionals. Equipped with a versatile array of mounts, the microphone ensures effortless positioning for precise sound capture of violins, violas, flutes, and other woodwind instruments.
The microphone’s flexible gooseneck design ensures it remains securely positioned, even during dynamic and energetic performances. The ATM355VFCLM3 is terminated for use with Sennheiser 3.5mm TRS wireless bodypack transmitters.
High-Sensitivity Microphone
The ATM355VFCLM3 features a high-sensitivity capsule that delivers clear, balanced audio with the capability to handle sound pressure levels up to 148.5 dB SPL.
Its cardioid polar pattern enhances frontal sensitivity, effectively controlling feedback and isolating the desired sound source while minimizing the pickup of ambient noise.
Flexible, Lightweight Gooseneck Design
An 8″ lightweight gooseneck allows precise mic positioning with minimal effort, ensuring stability, even during energetic performances.
The gooseneck reduces handling noise and protects the 6′ cable from strain.
A built-in windscreen shields the microphone from unwanted noise and accidental damage, ensuring durability without compromising performance.
Comprehensive Mounting Options
AT8491V Violin Mount: Designed for violins and violas with a body depth of 1.18 to 2.16″, this clip-type mount securely attaches to the front and back plates for easy installation and removal. Its low-profile design minimizes contact with the instrument, preserving resonance and protecting the finish with its specially formulated materials.
AT8491F Flute Mount: The flute mount accommodates diameters of 0.47 to 1.18″, making it ideal for flutes, other wind instruments, and cylindrical objects like microphone stands. Its rounded, scratch-resistant contact surfaces prevent damage to delicate finishes while ensuring a secure fit.
Interchangeable Elements for Hypercardioid and Omnidirectional Pickup
For additional flexibility, elements such as the UE-O Omnidirectional and UE-H Hypercardioid (both available separately) allow users to tailor the microphones polar pattern to suit diverse recording environments.
