Designed for professional live and studio use, the ATM355VF compact clip-on cardioid condenser makes it easy to accurately capture sounds from string, woodwind, and other instruments. This high-sensitivity microphone delivers clear, balanced sound from both low and high SPL sources perfect for capturing all the subtleties and dynamics in a musical performance.
The mics cardioid polar pattern provides excellent frontal sensitivity for excellent isolation with minimal capture of unwanted sounds. The cardioid element can also be interchanged with our UE-O omnidirectional and UE-H hypercardioid elements (both sold separately), providing a wide range of possibilities to suit your sound-capturing environment.
The mics flexible gooseneck can be pointed in any direction, enabling you to tailor your sound pickup, while reducing touch noises and lessening the strain on the 1.8 m cable. And the gooseneck is strong enough to hold its position even during lively performances.
The ATM355VF comes with an AT8491V clip-type violin mount and AT8491F flute mount. Both mounts offer convenient, one-handed operation for quick and easy attachment to instruments. Designed for string instruments with a body depth of 30 to 55 mm, the AT8491V ensures minimal contact with the instrument to greatly reduce sound attenuation and prevent any loss in resonance. The AT8491F is designed for flutes and other wind instruments with diameters of 12 to 30 mm. But its rounded contact surface can also be mounted to any cylindrical object, including microphone stands. The mounts contact surfaces are made of scratch-resistant material to prevent damage to instruments.
The ATM355VF also includes an AT8543 power module that can be connected to the mic cables locking 4-pin connector for wired applications. This power module features a 3-pin XLRM output connector and a switch for selecting between flat response and low-cut (using an 80 Hz high-pass filter). For wireless use, the mic cable connects to Audio-Technica cW-style wireless body-pack transmitters.
