Universal Audio APLLO X16D ULTIMATE+ Edition Thunderbolt Audio Interface with Dante
Rackmount 18 x 20 thunderbolt audio interface with Dante I/O, elite-class Apollo X 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion, and HEXA core processing for Mac or Windows.
Perfect for live sound venues or networked recording studios, Apollo x16D gives you elite-class Apollo X sound and realtime UAD plug-in processing over Thunderbolt and Dante. With Apollo x16D, you can mix and record live performances with over 200 UAD plug-ins from Neve, SSL, and Auto-Tune, plus classic LA-2A and 1176 compressors, and more.
Key Benefits
Take Elite-Class Apollo X Sound on Stage
Universal Audio built Apollo x16D for both live sound engineers and networked recording studios. With its 16 channels of Dante I/O, elite-class audio conversion, and HEXA core DSP processing – the world’s most powerful system for running UAD plug-ins in realtime – Apollo x16D seamlessly connects to your digital mixing console, putting over 200 UAD plug-ins right at your fingertips.
Work Fast & Never Lose Your Settings
With its powerful digital mixing engine giving you control over inputs, outputs, and plug-in routing – Apollo x16D makes it easy to quickly build your mix and control entire effects chains in realtime. Then quickly recall your plug-in settings over MIDI, all without interrupting the performance.
Hundreds of Effects, One Rack Space
Apollo x16D comes in two editions, both delivering a generous suite of UAD plug-ins right out of the box. Build your mix with classic Teletronix LA-2A and 1176 compressors, Pultec EQs, and Neve channel strips to modern favorites from Auto-Tune, Avalon, and more.
Expand Your Studio Over Dante
Link up to four x16Ds to build a 64-channel Dante system with network redundancy. Or expand your current Thunderbolt Apollo studio over Dante – the most low-latency and scalable audio network available. This means that if you’ve been considering making the switch to a networked recording studio, or you simply want to grow to a multi-room setup, you don’t have to start from scratch.
Mix Down to Surround
After the show, bring Apollo x16D back to the studio, where it becomes your allinone monitoring hub for mixing formats up to 9.1.6. This allows you to easily create 16channel immersive audio mixes of live sets or studio recordings for Dolby Atmos, Auro3D, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and others.

FREE Universal Audio MIC-UADLX Sphere DLX Modeling Microphone
Adjustable Proximity Effect: eliminates the need to move a microphone solely because of too little or too much bass due to proximity effectgreat for punching in a vocal where distance from the mic varies from take to take.
Off-Axis Correction: create more accurate polar patterns to reduce bleed, room coloration, and susceptibility to feedback before or after tracking.
Sphere supports a wide range of plug-in formats, including UAD, AAX DSP, AAX Native, VST2, VST3, and Audio Units on Mac and Windows.
Record in Stereo with One Mic
Thanks to its dual-capsule design, the Sphere DLX lets you easily record piano, drums, strings, and more in stereo.
You can even use different mic models on the left and right channels for a more colorful stereo image.
Plus, you can blend the sound of two mono Sphere DLX mics using Dual Mode, and get classic-sounding mic recipes on snare drums and guitar cabs.
Polar-Pattern Modeling
The Polar control lets you adjust the pickup pattern of the mic model, with the additional advantage of being able to select intermediate polar patterns that the original mic did not have. For microphones with a single pattern, the pattern control is fixed to that pattern.

Real-Time Processing with Low Latency
With Universal Audio Apollo interfaces (available separately), you can achieve extremely low latency (approx. 1.6ms round trip at 96 kHz) for seamless real-time performance.
The AAX DSP format allows for low-latency performance on Avid HDX systems.
Optimize the Mic for Your Specific Acoustic Treatment
The IsoSphere function in the Sphere 180 DLX plug-in optimizes how the Sphere DLX microphone works together with commonly available isolation devicessuch as the sE Reflexion Filters, Aston Halo, Kaotica Eyeball, and even vocal booths.
IsoSphere enhances off-axis behavior for maximum rejection and modifies frequency response to compensate for unwanted coloration, leading to even better-sounding recordings.
Built to Last a Lifetime
With dual, gold-sputtered diaphragms, the Sphere DLX outfits your studio with a premium, large-diaphragm condenser microphone, precision-built to deliver years of inspiration for your recordings and music productions.
