Perfect for live sound venues and networked recording studios, theUniversal Audio Apollo x16D Essentials+is an 18×20 rackmount Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with Dante that gives you elite-class Apollo X 24-bit / 192 kHz audio conversion and HEXA Core Processing for real-time UAD plug-in processing over Thunderbolt and Dante at near-zero latencyon Mac and Windows computers. Apollo x16D Essentials+ let you mix and record live performances with 32 UAD plug-ins from Pultec EQ to Auto-Tune, classic LA-2A and 1176 compressors, and more. You can use Plug-In Scenes to recall settings instantly, even in the middle of a performance
With 16×16 simultaneous network audio I/O channels via Dante (or AES67 at 48 kHz), Apollo x16D lets you create 16-channel immersive audio mixes for Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, Sony 360, Reality Audio, and others. If you want to grow to a multiroom setup, you can link up to four Apollo x16Ds to build a 64-channel Dante system with network redundancy. Stereo AES I/O are also available for connection to professional, digital outboard hardware. The two Thunderbolt ports enable you to daisy-chain up to four Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo interfaces.
Take Elite-Class Apollo X Sound Onstage
Offering the most powerful system for running UAD plug-ins in real time, Apollo x16D is built for both live sound engineers and networked recording studios.
The interface seamlessly connects to your digital mixing console, putting 32 UAD plug-ins right at your fingertips (Ultimate+ Edition).
Work Fast and Never Lose Your Settings
With its powerful digital mixing engine giving you control over inputs, outputs, and plug-in routing, Apollo x16D makes it easy to build your mix and control entire effect chains in real time.
Then, quickly recall your plug-in settings over MIDI, all without interrupting the performance.
Expand Your Studio over Dante
Link up to four x16Ds to build a 64-channel Dante system with network redundancy.
Or, expand your current Thunderbolt Apollo studio over Dantethe most low-latency scalable audio network available.
Mix Down to Surround
After the show, bring Apollo x16D back to the studio, where it becomes your all-in-one monitoring hub for mixing formats up to 9.1.6.
This allows you to easily create 16-channel immersive audio mixes of live sets or studio recordings for Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and others.

FREE Universal Audio MIC-UALX Sphere LX Modeling Microphone
TheUniversal Audio Sphere LX Modeling Microphonecombines a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with the Sphere LX plug-in to accurately model 20 of the most sought-after vintage microphones, including Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, and more. Auditioning and switching between mics during a session can be tedious, but thanks to the plug-in, you can change mic type, polar pattern, reduce bleed, room coloration, and even adjust the proximity effecteither during or after tracking vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, stringed and wind instruments, percussion, room sound, and more.
The Sphere LX is a dual-capsule microphone with dual outputs, custom-designed to capture the three-dimensional soundfield with exacting detailincluding the directional and distance information otherwise lost with a conventional single-channel microphone. Remarkably rugged, the mic can handle in excess of 145 dB SPL before clipping and won’t be damaged by high SPLs or air blasts as some vintage microphones can be. It also has a self-noise level of 10 dB-A SPL, well below most vintage microphones and comparable to many of the best modern microphones. Two XLR mic preamp inputs are needed to operate the mic with the plug-in, as all mic-modeling and other advanced DSP features occur in the Sphere LX software. Note that the mic can also be used as a standard condenser mic (no modeling) with only one XLR mic preamp required.
Grab the Keys to the Ultimate Mic Locker
The Sphere plug-in gives you access to 20 of the most prized ribbon, condenser, and dynamic microphones ever made.
Get the sound of a classic 47 (with VF14 tube), 67, M49, C12, and 800 to name a few.
Sphere LX Mic-Modeling Plug-In Optimized for the Apollo
The Sphere LX plug-in (free download available separately) allows the user to change the mic type and polar pattern even after tracking.
Pairing the software with the Apollo audio interface greatly simplifies the process of matching the two mic-preamps required for the plug-in to work.
Adjustable proximity effect: eliminates the need to move a microphone solely because of too little or too much bass due to proximity effectgreat for punching in a vocal where distance from the mic varies from take to take.
Off-axis correction: create more accurate polar patterns to reduce bleed, room coloration, and susceptibility to feedback before or after tracking.
Sphere supports a wide range of plug-in formats, including UAD, AAX DSP, AAX Native, VST2, VST3, and Audio Units on Mac and Windows.
Use Dual Mode for Classic Mic Pairings
Blend the sound of two mono mics with Sphere LX’s Dual Mode and get rich-sounding mic combinations on snare drums and guitar cabs.
Polar-Pattern Modeling
The Polar control lets you adjust the pickup pattern of the mic model, with the additional advantage of being able to select intermediate polar patterns that the original mic did not have. For microphones with a single pattern, the pattern control is fixed to that pattern.

Real-Time Processing with Low Latency
With Universal Audio Apollo interfaces (available separately), you can achieve extremely low latency (approx. 1.6ms round trip at 96 kHz) for seamless real-time performance.
The AAX DSP format allows for low-latency performance on Avid HDX systems.
Optimize the Mic for Your Specific Acoustic Treatment
The IsoSphere function in the Sphere LX plug-in optimizes how the Sphere LX microphone works together with commonly available isolation devicessuch as the sE Reflexion Filters, Aston Halo, Kaotica Eyeball, and even vocal booths.
IsoSphere enhances off-axis behavior for maximum rejection and modifies frequency response to compensate for unwanted coloration, leading to even better-sounding recordings.
Built to Last a Lifetime
With dual, gold-sputtered diaphragms, the Sphere LX outfits your studio with a premium, large-diaphragm condenser microphone, precision-built to deliver years of inspiration for your recordings and music productions.
