Designed for large-scale sound reinforcement applications, theBASSBOSS MFLA-MK3is powered, high-output, dual 12″ line array element loudspeaker with a wide coverage pattern that’s wells suited for main speakers in mid- to large-sized events including concerts, festivals, art installations, and more.

The MFLA-MK3 features a 3200W Class-D amplifier that delivers 2400W to the two 12″ woofers and 800W to two 3″ compression driver, which combines for a 60 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and a massive 142 dB SPL. The speaker uses an isophasic waveguide instead of a conventional horn. The fixed-point flyware ensures absolutely consistent box-to-box alignment. Its simultaneous compression and tension mechanism allows the cabinets to be flown or ground stacked using the same simple setup, ensuring there is no slack or shifting in the box alignment once the boxes are pinned. The mechanism allows for single-handed adjustment of splay angles for ground-stacked operation or in preparation for flying. A Neutrik powerCON True 1 power cable is included.

What’s NewMK3 Amp Update

• There are all-new amplifiers in the MK3 series. Total power has increased, however power allocated to woofers increased substantially. The higher output voltages provide more impact. Universal input voltage compatibility of 90 to 250V provides more flexibility. Waterproof connections provide more peace of mind.

MK3 Enhanced DSP

• The MK3 features an all-new 96 kHz DSP. The push-button presets have doubled from 4 to 8, and up to 100 presets can now be stored in the DSP and loaded via LAN. The comprehensive suite of processing includes meticulously tuned equalization, all necessary high-pass and low-pass filters, as well as multiple protection systems and limiters to prevent driver overload in as many ways as possible.

ControlBASS Software

• ControlBASS software supports an essentially unlimited number of possible BASSBOSS-developed or customized user presets, which integrate seamlessly and coherently with all other BASSBOSS products for effortlessly perfect setups. The latest in DSP programming developments can be added via easy remote updating.

Innovations in Performance and Practicality

• The DV12-MK3 uses a line-array derived 1.4 throat isophasic waveguide instead of a conventional horn. Coupled to the waveguide is a 3-inch-diaphragm neodymium-motor compression driver. This combination provides effortlessly high SPL over very wide and consistent horizontal coverage of 120 with a tight vertical pattern of 20. This extends high frequency intelligibility farther than a conventional horn and allows for two arrayed cabinets to provide coherent, line array style performance.
• The lower frequencies are produced by a 12 woofer that features a Neodymium magnet for light weight and high efficiency, a 4 voice coil for high power handling, and a symmetrical, long-excursion suspension for accurate and extended bass response. So much bass response that it could easily serve as a subwoofer driver.

Fixed-Point Flyware

• Fixed-Point Flyware ensures absolutely consistent box-to-box alignment. The high-frequency output of an array can only remain coherent at higher frequencies if the cabinets cannot move front-to-back once the pins are inserted. The MFLA-MK3s unique precision alignment mechanism prevents movement in the direction that influences time domain alignment, front-to-back, which is critical to ensure the phase of the high-frequency signals remain coherent from box to box. This feature dramatically improves the very high-frequency propagation effectiveness of the entire array, allowing the MFLA-MK3 to deliver pristine highs at greater distances.

Comprehensive Digital Signal Processing

• Every BASSBOSS product features dedicated and integrated signal processing. Proprietary measurement and processing systems allow BASSBOSS products to deliver superior performance and value compared to others of similar size, price, or coverage. The innovative, sophisticated protection in the DSP allows the drivers to run louder and longer and remain reliable. The nature of the processing, along with the proprietary limiters, allows the speakers to maintain their character and sound quality to a level higher than you might believe possible.
• The protection systems involve several techniques running simultaneously to effectively prevent thermal overload of the voice coils and limit excessive excursion. Due to the sophistication of these multiple, independent yet simultaneous processes, the drivers can be protected while the actions of the limiters have virtually no noticeable effect on the transient response of the loudspeaker. Reducing thermal saturation not only prevents burned voice coils, it also minimizes long-term thermal compression. Peak output can be achieved consistently, repeatedly and safely.

etherCON Interface

• The new DSP features an Ethernet interface that can be used to control the cabinets from a computer or to load software or firmware updates. The ethernet connectivity in conjunction with the DSP board allows signal to be sent via Milan AVB. Firmware updates will provide access to this feature.
• Within the software, multiple cabinets can be grouped together, allowing them to respond to commands simultaneously. This permits the levels of multiple loudspeakers to be adjusted together and yet independently from the levels of other groups of loudspeakers. In addition to individual and grouped level controls, presets can be loaded and signal levels and temperatures can be monitored. Each cabinet includes a two-port switch so multiple cabinets can be chained on the same data cable.
• The MK3 DSP features storage capacity of up to 100 presets, eight of which can be accessed at the touch of a button with no need for a connected computer. The eight directly accessible presets are compatible with all the presets in the MK3 Top Boxes and are also compatible with previous generation tops and subs.
