The Kingbolt RA Blackout from Reverend Guitars presents a cutting-edge body design and loads of features that enhance its tone and playability. The Kingbolt RA Blackout boasts an all-korina body, a tonewood that is universally lauded for its light weight, perfect for long hours in the studio or onstage. A stunning dark roasted maple neck with an ebony fretboard offers smooth playability and delicious response. When you plug in, a pair of Railhammer Hyper Vintage humbuckers kicks out huge ‘bucker tone that is balanced and versatile. To keep you in tune even when you are really digging in, the Kingbolt RA Blackout is outfitted with a Wilkinson IIK Tremolo system that stays in tune without the hassle of a locking nut!

Eye-catching bolt-on neck

The maple neck on the Kingbolt RA Blackout has been roasted a little longer for a darker appearance that is truly stunning. This roasting process not only enhances the aesthetic of the neck, but it also removes impurities like moisture and sugars that can have a subtle effect on the overall tone and resonance of the wood. The dark roasted maple neck has been cut to a medium oval profile for a really comfortable feel in your hand that makes lead runs and chords up and down the fretboard extra smooth. And to enhance sustain, snap, and overall attack, this neck has been bolted on with a 6-bolt neck plate! Many players agree that a bolt-on neck design translates to greater note definition and an overall sharpness and firmness that contribute to a more twangy tone.

Tone, tone, tone!

Reverend Guitars founder Joe Naylor is a tone junkie who is constantly working and reworking body and pickup designs to maximize sonic goodness. A bona fide prodigy, Joe not only founded Reverend Guitars in 1996, but also Railhammer pickups in 2012! For the Kingbolt RA Blackout, Joe designed the Railhammer Hyper Vintage humbucker a clean ‘bucker that delivers a wide-open, percussive tone with chimey highs and a chill midrange. These unique pickups feature rails under the wound strings that keep the lows tight and thick. Traditional poles are found under the plain strings for fat highs. These PAF-inspired pickups will deliver the goods for everything from punk and rock to blues and old-school metal their diverse range has blown a lot of minds and ears here.

Innovative bridge for stellar sustain

With the Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo, each saddle locks down to make the bridge one solid unit. This feature keeps springs from going loose, ensuring a tight midrange focus as well as enhancing overall sustain. The Kingbolt RA Blackout also features an adjustable arm swing tension and a push-in/no freeplay arm a threaded insert feature that lets you remove and reattach the tremolo arm and tighten it down to a level that suits your playing style. In addition to this amazing bridge, the Kingbolt RA Blackout also features the Vari-claw Tremolo Claw system, which gives you the option of utilizing three springs in the middle for a firm tremolo feel, or two springs on the outside for a softer feel. And with the Reverend’s Boneite nut and pin-lock tuners, you stay in tune even when you really let the whammy fly!
