The Ibanez Iron Label RGRB620 offers metal-minded players a satisfying 6-string playing experience. This solidbody electric guitar is built upon a nyatoh body, carved into Ibanezs classic RG shape. The RGRB620s 5-piece maple/walnut neck features a hand-cradling Wizard II shape, and its 24-fret, flat-radius ebony fingerboard provides plenty of room for fast-paced finger maneuverability. A set of DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers delivers a perfect storm of rapid-fire attack and amp-pummeling output, both of which are must-haves for modern metal. The RGRB620 is equipped with an Edge-Zero II double-locking tremolo, putting an entire arsenal of pitch-abusing pyrotechnics at your disposal. Complete with an attention-grabbing reverse headstock and a spotlight-stealing satin poly finish, the Ibanez RGRB620 is the perfect instrument for your individual brand of mind-bending metallurgic musicality.
Speedy Wizard II neck
One of Ibanezs fastest necks to date, the 5-piece maple/walnut Wizard II neck on the RGRB620 is an absolute pleasure to play. This slim and super-comfortable neck lets you pull off lightning-fast runs, arpeggios, and hammer-ons with ease, but it still gives you the substance you need for fretting chords. Capping the neck is a 24-fret ebony fingerboard thats loaded with jumbo frets that are perfect for big note bends. From the first time you put your hands on the RGRB620s Wizard II neck, youll know youve got a guitar that was built with performance in mind.
Active guitar tones without the battery
Ibanez loaded the Iron Label RGRB620 with a pair of DiMarzio D Activator humbucking pickups. These high-octane pickups deliver a full and enriched harmonic quality thats great for rhythm and solo playing alike. DiMarzio designed their D Activator pickups to eliminate the sterile edginess that plagues many active pickups. The bottom line is that they deliver all the advantages of active pickups without the drawbacks. Plus, these pickups dont require batteries! Whats more, their massive headroom permits you to pick as aggressively as you want without flattening your signal. These pickups also have exceptionally balanced volume between the neck and bridge you can switch between the two positions with zero drops in volume. The RGRB620 includes Ibanezs vaunted dyna-Mix10 switching system, along with an Alter switch.
Palm-mute-promoting Edge-Zero II tremolo
Whether you palm mute with precision or simply have a wild strumming style, few things are worse than getting hung up on your bridge during a furious performance. Thats one area in which the RGRB620s Edge-Zero II tremolo really shines; it gets out of the way of your playing while still serving up maximum expression and tuning stability. Youll barely know its there, thanks to its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners. Plus, locking studs give you additional tuning stability. As for functionality, weve been using and abusing Ibanezs Edge-Zero and its variants around here since the early 1990s, and we can proclaim with the utmost confidence: the Edge-Zero II is among the most reliable double-locking trems youll ever put your hands on. So, pull the bar all the way up, then slam it down to the body all you want; you can follow it up with a jazz chord, and itll be perfectly in tune.
