As an early adopter of its standard counterpart, Giacomo wanted to expand the tonal palate of the Bedford SH to offer even more of the undeniably funky tones for which he has become known. The primary difference on the Giacomo Turra Bedford SH is the inclusion of the all-new Supro Gold Field pickup in the bridge position. With an aesthetic reminiscent of the 1960s, the Supro Gold Field garners its name from its “field coil,” the product of two bar magnets spanning a steel baseplate. Clear like a single coil and bold like a humbucker, it’s an excellent choice for nuanced funk and vintage-inspired rock tones. Paired with two Supro T-Style single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions as well as a Wilkinson tremolo system, players will find no shortage of inspiring, articulate tones. Built for both studio work and live performance, the Excel Giacomo Turra Bedford SH boasts a sturdy thin-line construction and remarkably comfortable neck shape.
