Jake Bowenhas a freeform approach to his music and the sounds he wants to create. His newest Ibanez-designed guitar represents a shift from his older dual-humbucker instrument withTitanhumbuckers to a double-blade, Strat-style pickup for the neck and a humbucker in the bridge.
The Mirage pickups are the next step in that journey. Jake loves DiMarzio’sThe Chopper, but he needed a tweak: a pickup that would function the same way in the angled neck position of his new guitar. He wanted a super saturated single coil sound that was a mix betweenThe CruiserandThe Choppermodels.
Enter the Mirage Neck. This fully humbucking pickup features a bell-like top end for smoothness and an opened-up bass for balance. Jake also requested slightly more output to keep up with hisMirage Bridgepickup, and the result is an unstoppable combo. We even added a satin nickel appearance to complete the muscle car aesthetic of his new guitar.
